Gail Hopkins Kolehma

A native New Yorker and veteran of the music industry, my career began as a hobby shooting rock concerts in New York during a time when cameras were not restricted and a top artist or band headlined every week. Madison Square Garden was my playground and my training field, a crash course in photography. It was there that I learned how to capture high-speed action shots in low-light conditions with a no-frills camera while playing cat-and-mouse with security. Fun and exciting times that would become the foundation of my future.

My love for music eventually led to a job in the music industry where I worked for entertainment and media giants such as, Columbia Pictures and Warner Bros. in various aspects of; Artist Relations, Graphic Design, Advertising, Sales and Marketing. But, as the landscape of the music industry shifted and evolved into a digital world, the jobs and positions changed too. So after many years in the business side of music, my role has come full-circle. Once again, I am embracing the artistic side of the industry and thankfully found my way back to photography with the same energy, excitement and enthusiasm that inspired me long ago.

Expressions Though a Lens features my most recent photographs of which music, art, fashion and dance continue to be my main focus. Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you enjoy my work.
